Truefood Cafe $$ - $$$
This place has been recommended to me by three people, including my mentors and even a lecturer! I had to check it out. It's a cheerful, fresh yet cosy place which has seating on three levels: ground entrance, upstairs (small balcony area) and downstairs basement where the kitchen is also located. They offer a ton of plant based food and I know for a fact that their menu is more extravagant than the photo below from all the recommendations I've heard! (They do a mean mac n cheese here, I'm told).

The Menu:
What I Ordered: The Vegan BLT
Tempeh bacon, overnight tomatoes, romaine salad, avocado and aioli on grilled sourdough bread, served with warm root veggie chips and salad
This lunch was unexpectedly massive! It's incredibly filling, good lord. I would definitely recommend the BLT if you're hungry - I thought I was, but after finishing it I was almost bursting at the seams. It was the first time I tried vegan bacon - made for an interesting experience! I think I had my sights too hard on the "authentic fried bacon" taste, since the flavour of the bacon tempeh was more of a BBQ sauce-y flavour? I enjoyed it, but wouldn't order this bad boy again unless I was really craving a huge meal.
