Ice Hockey Game: LTH Griparna vs KTH Royal Blue!

Friday nights aren't about pubs or clubs but about ice hockey! It was my first time ever seeing a game, let alone live game on the ice and it did not disappoint!! The stands fill up pretty quickly and some supporters stood throughout the game, so I'd recommend getting their early (say 18:30 - 18:45).

You hand your ticket to the booth at the entrance and get your hand stamped. There's a small kiosk where you can purchase light snacks and drinks, and there's also the very small opportunity to purchase a t-shirt of Griparna to support the Lund team :)

The game was LTH (so, Lund Engineering) versus KTH (Stockholm Engineering)! I didn't expect to get so 'in' to ice hockey but it is honestly such a fun game to watch. Players switch positions, manoeuvre, fall completely, fall on their shins, crash into each other and get up and go within seconds to glide around the rink to get that puck into the goal. I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for more games!!

The game is structured in three 20-minute intervals. During the game from what I saw, players can switch from the stand to the ice whenever necessary. If the game ties by the end of 60 minutes, like it did last night at 4:4, the game goes into 'sudden-death overtime'. This means that five players are elected and whichever team scores during the overtime 20 minutes wins the game, the game ending instantly after the 1 score.

Although Lund lost, it was such a great experience to attend the game. It's so much fun to watch and do something a little bit different on a Friday night!
