"Fettisdagen" or "Fat Tuesday" is the day where all Swedes celebrate "getting fat" for the start of Lent by eating semla. Leve does the best semla I've eaten: serving original and plant based (vegan).

Reminiscent of the underground shops in Copenhagen, Leve is a small, cosy bakery. You self-serve water + cutlery at a station next to the counter. Staff speak impeccable English :)

Semla goodness: the almond paste inside Leve's semla is made from roasted almonds, giving it a richer flavour - it makes the paste seem less sweet which is perfect to my taste buds!
View from the top: I always take the lid off first and eat that before devouring the rest of the bun!
