View from Delphi - hold on a second, it's snowing?
Okay, so maybe the title "surviving" is a bit dramatic, but the weather in Skane does this thing when February comes around - the days start to get warmer, the sun starts radiating heat as well as light and there's no snow-covered streets so you can begin to look forward to Spring! ...Or so I thought.
But look! All the pretty sidewalk flowers and blooming!
Remember: to find wonder in everything ~
March is known as "Fool's Spring" - because the weather goes psych! and sometimes you get days with sun, snow, cloud and rain all in one. Despite the unpredictability of the weather, I'd say March is still gorgeous because the little flowers in the Botanic Gardens and on the sidewalk pop up (see above), and in general the days are warmer (averaging 6-7 C compared to around 2-3 C).
Tips? It's all in being prepared, even though it might sound obvious here are my handy hints:
- Your life will instantly be better if you have a small, portable, light-weight and automatic umbrella. Just take it with you everywhere.
- Keep a scarf handy. Some days I just wear a t-shirt, other days I'm layered up. I found having a scarf on me a surprisingly good way to warm up when the weather changes.
- If you don't have them already, buy sunglasses. Preferably polaroid sunglasses - the sun is bright! And it's high up too and never leaves, until sunset I guess. Especially when more people are biking around sunglasses are the best way to not go blind but also protect your eyes the hands-free way.
As spotted at Helsingkrona Nation today:
You gotta get yourself organised to fight through Fool's Spring!
