Lund Insider: Skrylle Naturreservat (or the woods where the locals go!)

Start of the 5km walking/running trail (marked with yellow)

Welcome to Skrylle, the woods where the local Swedes go in their spare time or on the weekends to be fresh in nature. It's about 14km from Lund and has several walking or running tracks. There's also a gym with shows and a restaurant serving decent lunches with sweets for fika too! I ventured out with two friends (classmates from CAS, one of which who works at Lund University) who could drive there. It's an insanely popular destination for Swedes on weekends - always packed with very little parking, but on a Wednesday morning in April it was just perfect.

You're in the right place if you see this tent: the tracks are just up ahead!
Of course I had to take a photo of the aesthetic signposts
 Into the woods we go!
There are these trivia signposts around the hiking trails, this one asks "Which is the most common frog found in Sweden?" with the last option being: "regular frog" AHAHA - hilarious!
Apparently these are some sort of "blueberry" plant
You get to see the variety in Swedish nature: just different sorts of woods, I guess!
 Moss garden!
It's almost like wandering through a faerie forest or Hansel and Gretel!
Love the spring flowers popping up! They're like little suns
his was about 10:30, the way the light filters through the trees is just magical
(Speaks for itself... the end of the hiking trail!)

The Restaurant:

Note: the menu was all in Swedish and they didn't display their vegan options on the boards, but when we went up to the counter and asked they offered two vegan burgers: veggie patty and a soy-based "meat" patty.

The food is expensive, but it's delicious and the ambience/atmosphere of the place surrounded by nature and indoor plants is lovely. If you buy tea or coffee you get a selection of various bagged and loose-leaf teas - and however many refills as you'd like.

 Ordering, sweets and drink counter!
 Seating area
Salad buffet - unlimited options! Potato salad, pickled cabbage, pickles, grated carrot, corn and a generic garden salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber), non-vegan butter and dressing
Bread buffet: rosemary bread and some cracker thing haha
My order: vegan soy "meat" burger, comes with chips + homemade ketchup (SEK129)
Fika: chokladbullar (SEK22) and a raw blueberry and cardamon ball (SEK20) - delicious! Would 100% recommend.
I just thought the name was hilarious - it translates to "love, yum!"

I adored Skrylle! It's a gorgeous place to visit to get away for a bit, see something different, live like a local but also haven the opportunity to reconnect with nature (and other people if you go with friends!)
