Midsummer Celebrations | Kulturen Museum, Lund

Essentially, Midsummer is a celebration dedicated to summer (of course), denoting to harvest, fertility and prosperity for the days to come.

In celebration of this year's Midsummer, Kulturen museum hosted a cultural celebratory day complete with Maypole and traditional dances. I feel exceptionally Swedish!

Many Swedes participate in the activities on Midsummer, including dressing up to folk-dance in traditional costumes (mostly women, although I did see a few men wearing flower crowns too!) while playing the dancing game "Små grodorna", where everyone hops around the Maypole wile singing about little frogs. It's adorable and a joy to watch!
