About Me

My pet quail, Pebbles! He's just finished crowing in this photo <3
Hey / Hej! And welcome!

My name is Charlotte and I've created this blog to document the whole process of embarking on a semester exchange to Lund University, Sweden, all the way from Sydney, Australia. I hope everything I put here will become a valuable resource to anyone considering studying at Lund!

I study a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Gender & Cultural Studies as well as Art History. My main academic interests revolve around intersectional feminist theory, environmental humanities, food consumption cultures, bio-economies, self-love, love as a method of living; baroque visual, garden and architectural cultures and botanical drawing; counselling and finally, pedagogy.

I'm hoping to transition over my exchange to a permanent vegan diet so I hope to seek out and write more on the different vegan food hubs while in Sweden.

That aside, my hobbies include tea-drinking, bird-keeping (mostly poultry though I do love pigeons and parrots), singing, dancing, chatting away, reading and writing. I love going for long walks in parks or going through gardens and I'd like to do more forest hikes when I get the chance.

Currently, my favourite book is Lost Connections (2018) by Johann Hari, although Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Start Up (2018) by John Carreyrou is a close second.

I enrolled in the following courses as part of my exchange:
SASH61 - Cultural Perspectives on Health, Lifestyle and Medicine
SASH68 - Critical Animal Studies in Society, Culture and the Media
SASH74 - Swedish Art in a Scandinavian Context
SASH86 - Food, Tradition and Innovation
